You Jest?

Stop your tears lets hit the road
Forget your lipstick under the coat
No your face doesn't look soaked
Lady your mind needs to let the clamp go

I've never seen the starlight beauty
Didn't care for the cheesy movies
I've never gone to the craze called love
Materialism just hovers above.

But tonight, tonight, tonight, I'll play my most lovely trick.
But she'll never know and applaud, know and applaud, know and applaud

They always said problems aren't solutions
I always try, try to disprove the cycle
She always goes, gets consumed in the middle.
It always longs, forces my resistance.

So what's left to do, when you're ill-equipped
With lack of common empathy?

But tonight, tonight, tonight, I'll play my most lovely trick.
But she'll never know and applaud, know and applaud, know and applaud
